Sound Of Gunshots Alerts Police To Reckless Shooting Incident In Silver Spring Parking Lot
A man accused of recklessly shooting a gun with an extended magazine in a Silver Spring parking lot on Sunday was arrested by police.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with a shooting that occurred Sunday in Silver Spring. No injuries were reported.
Officers were conducting a traffic stop around 2:24 a.m. in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Oakview Lane when they heard gunshots, according to police
Investigators determined that a man was recklessly firing a handgun with an extended magazine in a residential parking lot in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane.

After identifying Ryan Omar Lackonsingh as the suspect in the shooting, detectives located him around 5:430 a.m., at a nearby residence where Lackonsingh had barricaded himself. Eventually, police were able to take him into custody without incident.
Lackonsingh was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where he was charged with reckless endangerment. Other gun-related charges are pending.
