Suspect Charged In Theft Of Packages From Silver Spring Homes: Police

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police arrested 44-year-old Brandi Shoemaker of Silver Spring in connection with a series of package thefts that occurred recently in the Silver Spring area, according to a release.

Detectives started their investigation after receiving multiple reports of packages being stolen in the 2000 block of Longmead Crossing Drive between December 2022 and January 2023.

Through their investigation, detectives identified Shoemaker as a suspect in the case, according to the release.

Following a Jan. 26 traffic stop, police arrested Shoemaker and then obtained a search warrant for her residence. There, they recovered items that had been in the stolen packages.

After being taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, Shoemaker was charged with multiple counts of felony theft. She was later released on a $10,000 unsecured personal bond, according to police.
