Tech-Savvy Students Give One-On-One Computer Help to Leisure World of Maryland Residents

Students from Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School help residents with technology questions.

Some 25 students from Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Md. visited Leisure World of Maryland Sunday, April 26, to help residents with their technology questions. Students worked one-on-one to assist residents pertaining to smart phones, tablets, laptops, the Internet, e-mail and more. The helpful tutoring was made possible due to co-sponsors for the event, the Computer Learning Center and the Jewish Residents of Leisure World.

Founded in 1965, Rockville’s Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School is one of the largest and most prestigious K-12 independent Jewish day schools in North America. Creativity and confidence are the cornerstones of the school community, cultivated by a warm family atmosphere and tradition of academic atmosphere.

Leisure World of Maryland is a private, 610-acre community for adults age 50 and over that is known for its expansive recreational facilities and opportunities. Leisure World is home to more than 8500 residents, as well as to an 18-hole golf course, medical facilities, and multiple clubhouses with restaurants, ballrooms, conveniences and other recreational and educational opportunities. Residents own their homes, paying a monthly fee that includes the entire Leisure World amenity program. The array of housing includes luxury condominiums, townhomes and single-family homes.
