Trees Down, Residents Displaced By High Winds In Montgomery County
Montgomery County residents are facing power outages, trees blocking the roads and damages.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County residents are facing power outages, trees blocking the roads and damages Wednesday afternoon due to strong 60 mph winds.
The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for most jurisdictions within the National Capital Region Wednesday afternoon.
Another Wind Advisory has been issued from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday. Residents should expect 20-25 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer warned residents to use extreme caution around downed and damaged power lines. Don't remove fallen tree limbs or other debris from lines and treat all wires as if they're live, he tweeted.

A tree fell on a house in Silver Spring on Myrtle Road & Dameron Drive. The family was displaced, and there were no injuries.

Trees fell on an occupied house in Kensington on Parkwood Road and Brookfield Drive. No one was hurt, Piringer said.
