Two Robbery Suspects Sought After Police Chase In White Oak, DC

Two men authorities say robbed a convenience store in White Oak and then fled in a car chase that ended in Washington D.C. are being sought.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Two men authorities say were involved in a White Oak convenience store robbery and car chase that ended in Washington, D.C., are being sought by Montgomery County Police. (See surveillance photos of the suspected robbers at the bottom of this story.)

Two suspects entered the Dash-In Gas Station, in the 11100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. According to a police news release, one of the suspects implied he had a gun and demanded money from the cash register. The cashier opened the register, and the robbers left with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.

The robbers drove off in a white Hyundai Santa Fe, which was reported stolen from Arlington, Virginia. Officers located the SUV near New Hampshire Avenue and Northampton Drive, the men drove away, and a chase began.

As the duo drove into DC, their vehicle crashed near New Hampshire and Longfellow.

A female passenger was trapped inside the Hyundai and extricated by DC Fire Rescue. She was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two male suspects got out of the vehicle and ran away.

No other injuries were reported.
