Video: 2 Wanted In Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery In Silver Spring
Montgomery County Police released a surveillance video showing two women they say tried to steal another woman's jacket in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police detectives released surveillance video on Friday, seeking the public's help in identifying the suspects wanted in an attempted strong-arm robbery that took place Wednesday afternoon in Silver Spring, according to a release.
Officers responded around 1 p.m. for the report of an attempted strong-arm robbery in the 8500 block of Colesville Road. A preliminary investigation revealed that two unknown women approached the vicim from behind as she was walking.
One of the women grabbed the victim by the hair, pulled her to the ground, and started hitting her on the head and upper body, according to police. Meanwhile, the other woman tried to take the victim's jacket. When she failed to do that, both women verbally threatened the victim, before fleeing from the area on foot.

Police described the suspects as two Black women with medium-toned skin. The first suspect, who police say was heavy set, was wearing a blue jean jacket, black pants and a bonnet on her head. The second suspect was slender and had braces on her teeth, according to police. She was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, black pants, black and white sneakers and a bonnet on her head.
Anyone with information about this case or the identities of the two women in the video is asked to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the suspects in this case is eligible for a reward of up to $10,000. Tipsters do not need to identify themselves.
