Video: Identity Of Suspect In Silver Spring Burglary Sought By Police

SILVER SPRING, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police released surveillance video Wednesday as part of their investigation into residential burglary that took place March 22 in Silver Spring, according to a release. They are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect in the video.

Officers responded around 5:44 p.m., to the 14000 block of Castle Blvd. in Silver Spring for the report of a burglary. Investigators determined that a suspect had used a large rock to force his way through the front door of an apartment building. He then stole property from an apartment where front door had been left open.

Based on surveillance video, police described the suspect as a man with black hair, in his 20s or 30s, who was wearing a red hat, black glasses, black jeans, black shoes and a black, white and red jacket.

Anyone with information about this incident or who recognizes the man in the video is asked to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the suspect in this case will be eligible for a reward of up to $10,000. Callers may remain anonymous.
