WATCH: Armed Robbery Of A Silver Spring Exxon Gas Station

An unidentified man displayed a knife at an Exxon and stole 80 boxes of Newport cigarettes, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police are continuing to investigate a January 25 armed robbery of an Exxon gas station on Colesville Road. On Tuesday, investigators released a surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

At about 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the Exxon gas station located at 8384 Colesville Rd. for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred, police said.

The suspect entered the gas station, displayed a knife and approached an adult male employee who was working behind the counter. He then stole about 80 boxes of Newport cigarettes, police said.

The suspect fled from the store and was last seen on foot toward East West Highway.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or this armed robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
