Woman Dies In Single Car Accident On U.S. 29/Columbia Pike

Accident occurred just before 5:30 a.m. in Silver Spring. The victim, who was not identified, was the only person in the car.

SILVER SPRING, MD - A woman died in a single car crash Monday morning on northbound U.S. 29/Columbia Pike at Briggs Chaney Road in Silver Spring according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCDP).

According to reports, the police received a call at approximately 5:26 a.m. about a single vehicle collision, which investigators learned involved a car with just a single occupant. The MCDP reported the woman in the car was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity was not announced.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit continued to investigate after the accident.

WTOP reported that northbound Columbia Pike was closed for about four hours after the accident.
