Woman Embezzled $1.5 Million From Former Employer: District Court
Eleanor Milligan, 61 of Silver Spring, was convicted of embezzlement in the U.S. District Court. She took over $1.5 million over 6 years.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring woman was convicted of embezzling over $1.5 million from her employer over more than six and a half years. Eleanor Milligan, 61, was convicted in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia — her employer was based in Washington, D.C.
Milligan worked for the unnamed company on and off from 1998 to 2016 as a patrol administrator, the court's statement says. Milligan used her fellow employees’ names and identification to create false payment requests to herself through the company's payroll processing system from August 2009 to March 2016, the statement says.
Milligan was convicted on 13 counts, including wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and first-degree theft.

She is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 22, 2o21.
