Art Hop Takoma Returns This Weekend

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A full weekend of art and live performances are planned this weekend in Takoma Park for the ninth annual Art Hop arts fest.

The work of over 70 artists will be installed inside the shops, restaurants, galleries and cafes of Takoma. Art includes painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, jewelry, pottery, mosaic and more offered for sale at a variety of price points. The Old Takoma Business Association pairs each artist with a local business, where they can display their pieces.

Grab an Art Hop Map from any of the participating businesses (look for the Art Hop Stop sign) or at the Art Hop Info Booth at the Takoma Park Gazebo and explore art at your own pace while taking in “Meet-the-Artist” receptions and live performances all weekend. The Art Hop Map doubles as a punch card, which will be stamped at each Art Hop Stop location and may be turned in at the Art Hop Info Booth to be eligible for prize drawings.

Live outdoor music and dance performances are also planned all weekend at the Takoma Park Gazebo at 7035 Carroll Ave.

The event takes place inside the businesses and mirrors the businesses' hours, but is generally held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
