Dream it! Distill it! A writing workshop with Emily Theys

Wonder what an editor thinks about when they read your press release? Want your artist statement to speak volumes about your work without having volumes worth of content? Are you blogging about your work but finding it hard to say what you see or feel? This workshop is for you. The Dance Writing Distillery is geared towards the artist who writes her own press releases, who wants to reach print and online media venues and make an impact, and who could use a little help in making your work read on the page as beautifully as it does on the stage. Part of Dance Exchange’s big brain dance series, Dance Exchange’s Emily Macel Theys, a freelance writer and former associate editor of Dance Magazine, shares her secrets of the trade for how to get your work noticed through the ways you write your vision.

Event is 90 minutes long. There is an entry fee of $25. Discount: $85 for the whole series if you register in advance.

To register in advance, e-mail Ellen Chenoweth at ellen@danceexchange.org with your name and if you’re registering for February, April, or both series.  We’ll collect payment when you arrive for the first event.
