Founding Artistic Director and Choreographer Emerita of the Dance Exchange Liz Lerman returns home to our studios for part of Dance Exchange’s big brain dance series. Lerman will discuss the role of research in the choreographic process. She will talk about her own works-in-progress including a collaboration with Jawole Willa Jo Zollar of Urban Bush Women and a new work that investigates war and medicine. Lerman will discuss experiences with her well-known research-driven dance pieces, such as The Matter of Origins and Small Dances About Big Ideas. In addition to an interactive discussion, there will be a moderated Q&A session.
Event is 90 minutes long. There is an entry fee of $25. Discount: $85 for the whole series if you register in advance.
To register in advance, e-mail Ellen Chenoweth at ellen@danceexchange.org with your name and if you’re registering for February, April, or both series. We’ll collect payment when you arrive for the first event.
