Fire Breaks Out At Mandarin Restaurant On Georgia Avenue In Silver Spring
A fire at Mandarin Restaurant was reported at 3:50 p.m. Monday.
(Updated 5:36 p.m.) SILVER SPRING, MD β The Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service reported a building fire at Mandarin Restaurant on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported at 3:50 p.m. by Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer. Fire was showing from the roof of the building of Mandarin at 8411 Georgia Ave.
There were no injuries, Piringer said.

Units opened up the roof to extinguish a fire between the ceiling and roof. By 4:09 p.m., the bulk of the fire was knocked, according to the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department.
First reports said Kefa Cafe was the restaurant on fire, but it was actually Mandarin Restaurant. Kefa Cafe was not affected by the fire, according to Piringer.

Bonifant Street is blocked in both directions between Georgia Avenue and Fenton.
