Montgomery College has been recognized by Premium Schools as the best online community college in Maryland and one of the best in the country.

Premium Schools recently identified the top online community colleges in each state. Montgomery College was singled out for its seven online degrees and various certificates, providing students with opportunities to earn a credential even if they are not able to attend classes on campus.

β€œIn recent years, Montgomery College has expanded its online programming and is one of the best online community colleges in the nation,” Premium Schools wrote in an email to the College.

β€œOver the last five years, we have attempted to provide more options to our students and created several online degrees, z-degrees and z-courses,” Rai said. β€œThese efforts result in providing more flexible, accessible and affordable educational opportunities to our residents in the County.”

Montgomery College currently has online degrees in Business, Computer Science and Technologies (two tracks), Criminal Justice (two tracks), Early Childhood Educational Technology and General Studies. Several others are currently awaiting approval from the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
