Gun Control Film Wins Award For 2 Montgomery County Middle-Schoolers

Two Montgomery County middle-schoolers recently won second place in the middle school category of C-Span's Student Cam 2017 video documentary competition for their examination of gun control. This year, students made documentaries to answer the question, "Your message to Washington: What is the most urgent issue for the new president and Congress to address in 2017?"

Takoma Park Police Chief Resigns Due To 'Personal Reasons'

Takoma Park Police Chief Alan Goldberg officially resigned due to personal reasons Friday, the city announced. Goldberg began working for the City of Takoma Park in October 2012 after he retired from a long career with the Montgomery County Police Department. Goldberg has served a total of 39 years in law enforcement.

Winter Storm Watch Issued For Maryland

A winter storm watch has been issued for much of Maryland from 7 p.m. on Monday to 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The National Weather Service issues a winter storm watch when there is the potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulation that could impact travel.
