Voices 21: A Choral Tapestry

Free concert, chamber chorus

The Washington-area chamber chorus Voices 21 continues its 16th season with “A Choral Tapestry” of sacred and secular musical selections spanning several centuries that explores the themes of grief, comfort, hope, love, and beauty. The program features the choral classics Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Mozart’s Ave verum corpus, and Pearsall’s Lay a Garland. Contemporary compositions include the soothing Lullaby by Daniel Elder, the poignant Will there really be a “Morning?” by Dan Campolieta, and a gorgeous setting of the Ave verum corpus by Imant Raminsh. Join us as we weave sacred text and timeless poetry into a beautiful tapestry of choral music throughout the ages.
