What To Do In Takoma Park This Weekend

TAKOMA PARK, MD — Looking for weekend plans? Check out all the events going on right outside your door in Takoma Park.

Wine & Sweets Tasting w/ Artisans & Vines

Head over to TPPS Coop at 201 Ethan Allen Ave. from 4-7 p.m. Friday for a wine and sweets tasting with Artisans & Vines. Atteendees will be given a 10 percent discount on wine selections throughout the event.

Books and Basketball

This annual event is co-organized by Takoma Middle School staff and the PTA. Join the fun with a students versus staff basketball game from 6-9 p.m. Friday evening, and then a used book sale Friday evening and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. There will be thousands of used books on sale, priced at only $1-2. Proceeds from the events will support the PTA. These events will be at the middle school at 7611 Piney Branch Rd.

Art & Love

Attend the Kittner Studio open house at 7056 Carroll Ave. from 12-4 p.m. Saturday to make handmade gifts for your loved ones. From cards, jewelry, fine art and photography, there will be a ton of arts and crafts options.

Daughters' Dance Night

This Girl Scouts event was previously known as the Father-Daughter Dance. Fathers or other special adults are encouraged to bring their favorite girls to the Takoma Park Presbyterian Church from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday to dance the night away, snack on finger foods and other activities. Tickets are $20 at the door, and $5 for each additional daughter.

Vipassana Meditation

Chill out from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday evening at Willow Street Yoga at 6930 Carroll Ave. Be prepared for Vipassana meditation and dharma talk.
