WJFF Presents: The Man in the Wall
Tuesday, December 29 at the DCJCC, 1529 16th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036
A stark independent thriller from ascendant Israeli auteur Evgeny Ruman (Igor & The Cranes Journey, Lenin in October), The Man in the Wall is a psychological drama that unfolds over the course of a single evening in a Tel Aviv apartment.
Disappearing into the rainy night to walk their dog, Rami doesn’t return, leaving his wife Shir to question not only his whereabouts but the very construct of their relationship.
Impressively lensed, the narrative boasts economical storytelling and a sparse but powerful style. As the evening draws on, and Shir receives a host of visitors (police, family, friends), the plot bends towards an unexpected conclusion.
