Wood-Fired Pizza Joint Opens in Montgomery County

The owner of Franklyโ€ฆPizza! brought his farmers' market famous pizza to a brick-and-mortar front.

If youโ€™re craving pizza and happen to be in Kensington, Frank Linn, who formerly served wood-fired pizza from his mobile truck at the Kensington Farmersโ€™ Market, has opened a pizza shop to serve even more people: Franklyโ€ฆPizza!

If thereโ€™s any doubt to how much people love Linnโ€™s pies, a line extended out the restaurantโ€™s doors when Frankly...Pizza! opened on July 23, according to a news release. Linn ran out of dough within hours. And within five days of opening, the restaurant had already served 819 dinner guests from Kensington and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Linn uses an 80-year-old family recipe for his sauce. His pizzas are available in a variety of flavors from margherita to arugula to funghi and more.

โ€œThis is my interpretation of how I like pizza to be,โ€ Linn said. โ€œItโ€™s kind of bright and full of flavor. And those flavors are loud, kind of like me.โ€

Frankly...Pizza! is located at 10417 Armory Avenue, Kensington. The restaurant is open from Wednesday through Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
