If it's true laughter is the best medicine, than I suggest a visit to Magooby's Joke House on Deereco Road in Timonium the next time you're not feeling well. You'll find laughter-a-plenty as the jokes just keep on coming by the stand up comics on stage.
The comedy club is at the location of the former Timonium Dinner Theatre and is run by Andrew Unger. This is not his first experience with a comedy club. He was involved with Tracy's on Harford Road before opening in 2010. When this building began available he decided to open his own club. After a period of some remodeling, Magooby's was ready to go.
Shows are Thursdays at 8 and Fridays and Saturdays at 8 and 10:30. Admission for most shows is $15.00 to $17.00. For what is called 'special events', tickets are a bit higher. Special events are defined generally as bigger names. Some of those bigger names have included Kevin Pollak, Darrell Hammond, Gilbert Gottfried and even Pauly Shore. There is a two item purchase minimum. While this is not a gourmet dining establishment, the food is good and served efficiently.

I must warn you, very often the language is rough so just be prepared to hear it all. Of course many people go just for that reason, to enjoy comedy a bit edgy. I don't think they have had any complaints up to this point. Since the theatre is tiered, all seats are good. Laughing is indeed good for everyone and there are very few things better than to be in a room filled with it.
