First Time in IAFE History, 3 Family Members Graduate at the Same Time
Three family members, all with a Maryland State Fair connection, graduated from the Institute of Fair Management.

From Maryland State Fair: This year, for the first time in the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) history, three family members, all with a Maryland State Fair connection, graduated from the Institute of Fair Management. Maryland State Fair General Manager Andy Cashman, CFE of Union Bridge in Carroll County, his sister Maryland State Fair Home Arts Superintendent Janice Cashman Coroneos of Lutherville in Baltimore County, and his son Maryland State Fair former competitor and current York Fair Sales Manager Cody Cashman of Harney in Carroll County were presented with recognition plaques at the recent 2016 IAFE Convention in Las Vegas.
The mission of The Institute of Fair Management is to enhance the professional development of IAFE fair members by providing education and training recommended for the competent operations of today's large or small fairs. Courses include management, risk management, marketing, programming, operations and facility usage.
The Maryland State Fair, a private, non-profit organization located at the Timonium Fairgrounds in Baltimore County, originated in September 1879 when a group of farmers held a four-day event designed to promote agriculture and horse racing in Baltimore County. One hundred and thirty-six years later, that fledgling local event has grown in to a vibrant summer celebration and social epicenter that attracts approximately 500,000 visitors each year. The Maryland State Fair continues to feature an array of educational competitions that showcase thousands of the area’s finest home arts, agricultural and livestock exhibits, thoroughbred horse racing, midway rides and games, local and national entertainment and more. The 2017 Maryland State Fair will run from August 24 – September 4.
