1 Killed In Greenspring Valley Road Crash: Police

Police said a Towson man was charged in a crash Saturday night that killed a 35-year-old woman near Greenspring Station.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — One driver died and another was arrested as the result of a fiery crash near Greenspring Station Saturday night, police said. The collision occurred on Falls Road at Greenspring Valley Road, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Emergency officials were called to the scene before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, and found a three-vehicle crash in which one car was on fire.

Nadia Dominique Morgan, 35, of the 1000 block of Park Avenue in Baltimore, was pronounced deceased at the scene at 11:01 p.m., officials reported. She was an instructor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine specializing in rheumatology.

Morgan had been driving a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek south on Falls Road when her car was hit going through a green light, according to officials. Her car was forced into another vehicle going the same direction, and her Subaru became engulfed in flames, police said.

The driver who caused the crash got out of his car before police arrived and tried to run away, according to authorities, who said he was taken into custody.

Jason William Hines — 31, of the 200 block of Joppa Road in Towson — was driving a 2006 Acura TSX east on Greenspring Valley Road when he hit the Subaru, police reported. His car drove into a fire hydrant before escaped and tried to run from the scene, authorities allege.

Once he was apprehended, Hines was charged with the following, court records show:

  • Failing to return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury
  • Failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of accident involving death
  • Failing to return to and remain at the scene of an accident involving damage
  • Failure of driver involved in an accident to render reasonable assistance to an injured person
  • Failure of driver in an accident to locate and notify the property owner of damage

Hines is being held without bail in Baltimore County.

The driver and passenger in the third vehicle, the Acura MDX, both refused medical treatment, according to police.
