4 Towson Area High Schools Rank Among Top 50 Statewide
The 2015 U.S. News and World Report rankings put Maryland as top in nation for preparing students for college.

Maryland tops the 2015 U.S. News and World Report annual education rankings as the state with the most high-performing high schools.
According to the publication, 28.9 percent of Maryland’s eligible schools earned gold and silver medals, meaning they are most successfully preparing students for college based on participating in and passing Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs and tests. Students must also do well on statewide tests.

Among the top performing schools in Maryland, U.S. News ranked eight among the top 50:
- No. 12 Hereford High School
- No. 14 Eastern Technical High School
- No. 16 Dulaney High School
- No. 18 Towson High School Law and Public Policy
- No. 24 George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology
- No. 35 Western School Of Technology & Environmental Science
- No. 39 Loch Raven High
- No. 42 Catonsville High School
California came in second in the publication’s rankings, with 27.2 percent of its high schools earning gold or silver medals. Connecticut was third with 25.4 percent.
