6 Baltimore County Workers Helping With Harvey Disaster Response
Two employees from Baltimore County were deployed on Tuesday to Texas for help with Tropical Storm Harvey, officials said.

TOWSON, MD - Six Baltimore County workers are in Texas assisting with the response to Tropical Storm Harvey, officials reported on Wednesday.
Four fire department employees were deployed earlier in the week and on Tuesday, two more went from Maryland to Texas to help.
Fire Captain John Amrhein and Health and Human Services Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Terry Sapp, also an EMT, were being briefed and awaiting their assignments as of Wednesday, authorities said, joining others in responding to the devastation in Texas.

Since it first made landfall Friday as a Category 4 storm, Harvey has been linked to more than 30 deaths. Houston shelters were filled with over 30,000 evacuees after more than 50 inches of rain fell in some areas.
"Our hearts are with everyone affected by this unimaginable disaster," Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz said in a statement Wednesday. "We are so grateful to be able to contribute to the recovery effort."

Baltimore County Fire Lieutenant Byron Welker and Fire Apparatus Operator Steve Yealdhall are in Katy, Texas, where they are assigned to boat operations with FEMA, officials said.
Lieutenant Kevin Palmer and EMS Lieutenant Rick Blubaugh are waiting for specific directions as part of a medical assistance team that deployed last weekend.
