What a remarkable woman Helen Kellar. Today was her birthday. My mom had a deaf brother who got deaf because of mistakes made in his diagnosis. The blind brother and sister just happened and they became such fantastic people, marrying, having good careers and delightful, especially my uncle to us nephews and nieces.. He lived in Baltimore so we saw him often and he 'saw' us too.She lived in NYC .We did not see her but once every few years. She even knitted her whole wardrobe, gorgeous dresses of different colors and patterns. He was a medical secretary for the biggest docs at Hopkins Hospital and played in a combo orchestra. loved him so.
