Amy Schumer Stops at Towson Between 2016 Tour Dates

The comedian performed standup show at Towson University to celebrate her school's 150-year anniversary.

TOWSON, MD – One of Towson's famous alumni returned to campus recently to help celebrate the university's 150-year anniversary.

Comedian Amy Schumer, 34, reminisced about her days as a Towson student during the university's capstone event.

Schumer touched on memories of her one-night stands from the Charles Village Pub, drinking underage at Casa Mia's and her friendship with her roommate, who was at the show in the SECU Arena, during Sunday's performance, according to Baltimore magazine.

The night of standup at Towson came amid a whirlwind of events for the actress, between stops on Schumer's 2016 tour, which has her criss-crossing the country, appearing in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Saturday, April 9, and West Valley City, Utah, on Thursday, April 14.

On Tuesday, April 12, she'll be appearing on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in New York City, promoting her upcoming season of Inside Amy Schumer, which will premiere on Comedy Central on April 21.

In a landmark occasion, Schumer will conclude her standup tour on June 23 at Madison Square Garden in her home state of New York, where she will be the first female comic to headline an event at the venue.

This summer Schumer will make history again, releasing her first book, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, through Simon and Schuster imprint Gallery Books in August.

Tickets to the show at Towson on Sunday, April 10, were $55 to $250 and were only available to Towson University students and alumni, according to student newspaper The Towerlight, which reported the last time that Schumer was on campus was in March 2014.

Schumer completed her bachelor’s in theater at Towson in 2003. She chose the university because she thought she wanted to play volleyball; the school had a strong theater department; and the deal-sealer, she told The Baltimore Sun, was that on her campus visit, she won at beer pong and made out with a boy.
