Assistance Center of Towson Churches Increases Financial Aid

Grant goes toward emergency aid for things like eviction prevention, gas and electric turnoff prevention and prescriptions.

The Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Marion I. & Henry J. Knott Foundation to increase the amount of emergency financial aid that ACTC has been able to provide.

Recently, because of increasing needs, the center has only been able to give its clients $75 once a year in financial assistance for emergencies, including eviction prevention, gas and electric turnoff prevention, prescriptions, bus passes and gasoline.

The Knott Foundation grant enables ACTC to raise its assistance to $100 for 400 people.
