BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The Baltimore County Council voted Tuesday in favor of extending its data center moratorium, according to a report. The county was operating under a data center pause that was running until January 2027. However, the new approval will keep the moratorium in effect through December 2027. WMAR reported that all council members signed on as co-sponsors of the legislation. The extension comes after the Baltimore County Planning Board approved a data center report on Sept. 17 that recommended stricter oversight.
