Baltimore County Office Building Sells For $2.2 Million

PARKVILLE, MD — A commercial office building in Baltimore County that dates back to the 1970s recently sold for $2.2 million.

The 16,875-square-foot space known as the Weber Missick Building was sold to HQ2 Office Suites LLC at nearly 100% occupancy, according to MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services.

Finished in 1972 and then renovated in 2017, the office building is located at 1740 E. Joppa Road in Parkville.

It houses a mix of tenants that range from State Farm Insurance Company to the SecurityPlus Federal Credit Union, Lanier Law
Firm, and MAC Healthcare Services, among other firms.

"The new owner acquired an exceptionally well-maintained asset, situated in an extremely stable section of Baltimore County featuring a mix of established local and national tenants with long-term leases," Senior Vice President and Principal at MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services said in a statement.

"It is exceedingly rare for a substantially-leased building under 20,000 square feet of space in the east Towson market to become available for purchase. As a result, we fielded robust interest and was successful in concluding a timely sale that met the expectations of both the buyer and seller."

Ruocco said a "lease was recently executed with SecurityPlus Federal Credit Union, which will further elevate occupancy in 1740 E. Joppa Road upon its opening this fall."

Moving forward, several plans are in store for the building under its new ownership. Ruocco said resources were being organized to "enhance [the building's] appearance, marketability and operational efficiency."
