The charge reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute involving the couple’s 25-year-old foster daughter, whom they have raised since she was 3.5 years old when they were granted custody through Baltimore City social services.
The women got into an argument when the daughter asked her mother for paychecks, which escalated into a physical fight that traveled throughout the house and spilled onto the deck, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The daughter ran to a neighbor’s home to call police, WJZ reported.
Police said the daughter showed visible injuries and reported she was slapped across the face with an open hand, according to Fox 45.
When speaking with officers about the confrontation, Rebecca Johnson had scratches on her neck and arms, WBAL reported.
She had just taken a shower before police arrived, according to Fox 45.
Chief Jim Johnson was working when the assault occurred and was at his home in Baltimore County when he learned of the charge just before 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, WJZ reported.
A spokesperson for the chief told WBAL that he lives in Baltimore County, which is a requirement for his job, and also owns the home in Fallston.
Rebecca Johnson is scheduled to appear in Harford County District Court on Aug. 12 for the second-degree assault charge.
