Baltimore County Public Schools Calendar 2017-2018: First Day, Vacations, Conferences

When is the first day of school in Baltimore County? That, and other must-know dates for parents, students and teachers.

TOWSON, MD — The first day of school in Baltimore County is Tuesday, Sept. 5. Students will join others across the state in going back to school after Labor Day, following an executive order by Gov. Larry Hogan.

Baltimore County Public Schools has released its 2017-2018 calendar, including important dates like winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Monday, Aug. 21: Administrative and supervisory personnel meeting
Friday, Aug. 25: Teachers and school-based staff on duty
Monday, Aug. 28: Teacher Classroom Preparation Day
Tuesday, Aug. 29: Systemwide Professional Development Activities
Wednesday, Aug. 30: Orientation for students entering the 6th and 9th Grades

Monday, Sept. 4: Labor Day – Schools and Offices Closed
