Baltimore County Public Schools Calendar 2017-2018: First Day, Vacations, Conferences

Baltimore County Public Schools has released its 2017-2018 calendar, including important dates like winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

Monday, Aug. 21: Administrative and supervisory personnel meeting
Friday, Aug. 25: Teachers and school-based staff on duty
Monday, Aug. 28: Teacher Classroom Preparation Day
Tuesday, Aug. 29: Systemwide Professional Development Activities
Wednesday, Aug. 30: Orientation for students entering the 6th and 9th Grades

September

Monday, Sept. 4: Labor Day – Schools and Offices Closed
Tuesday, Sept. 5: Opening Day for Students
Thursday, Sept. 21: Rosh Hashanah – Schools and Offices Closed

October
Monday, Oct. 9: Columbus Day (Schools open)

Friday, Oct. 20: Schools closed for students for Systemwide Professional Development Day/MSEA Convention – Teachers on Duty or at the convention

November
Friday, Nov. 3: First Marking Period Ends. Elementary and Middle Schools Close 3 Hours Early for Students. High Schools in Session Full Day. Teachers on Duty for Grade Reporting and Data Analysis.
Saturday, Nov. 11: Veterans Day
Monday-Friday, Nov. 13-17: American Education Week
Thursday, Nov. 16: Report Cards Distributed; Preschool-3 and Pre-K Conference Day – No Preschool-3 or Pre-K a.m. or p.m. Sessions. Teachers on Duty.
Friday, Nov. 17: Elementary Conference Day – Schools Closed for Elementary Students – Teachers on Duty – Middle Schools and High Schools in Session Full Day
