Courses in Self-Esteem, Math, Relationships Open to Baltimore County Parents
Three workshops in July offer guidance for adults through Baltimore County Public Schools.

This July, Baltimore County Public Schools presents three courses through its Parent University program:
- "Choosing to Control (My Destiny)" focuses on developing children’s self-esteem. Experts will discuss homework help, learning activities and study strategies to transform youths into confident, responsible learners. The course is from 9:15–10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, at Sandy Plains Elementary School, 8330 Kavanagh Road, in Dundalk. Contact Anani Negrete Garcia at anegretegarcia@bcps.org if interested.
- "Countdown to Number Logic" explores strategies to hone basic number concepts and use math to develop children’s problem-solving, critical thinking and reasoning skills. The course will be from 9:15 a.m.–10:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, at Sandy Plains Elementary School, 8330 Kavanagh Road, in Dundalk. - "Nurturing Parenting Classes" is a six-week program for parents to learn strategies and techniques to strengthen their relationships with their children. Children up to age four may accompany their parents with prior submission of vaccination records. The course will be from 1–3 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday, July 28.
