Baltimore County Public Schools Moves Classes Online Until 2021

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Instruction will be virtual in Baltimore County Public Schools at least until 2021.

Due to concerns about safety amid the coronavirus pandemic, classes will be held virtually from Sept. 8, 2020, to Jan. 29, 2021, the Baltimore County Board of Education determined Tuesday.

Public schools in Baltimore County and across Maryland have been closed since March 16 at the direction of State Superintendent Karen Salmon to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Baltimore County is the latest of the large central Maryland school districts to announce it would hold instruction virtually.

Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties have also announced decisions to begin the school year online.
