• Police Identify Man Fatally Shot In Towson (patch.com) — Towson residents are learning more about a deadly weekend shooting after police identified 21-year-old Tavaughn Hamlet Jr. as the man killed late Sunday morning on the 8700 block of Mylander Lane. Baltimore County Police say the case remains under active investigation amid a weekend that saw at least four shootings countywide, and they are asking anyone with information to contact detectives or use the online iWATCH portal.

• Towson University student gets home detention for crash that killed man and his dog (thebanner.com) — A Towson University senior received 18 months of home detention, probation, community service, and a three-year driving ban for running a red light at Towsontown Boulevard West and Emerson Drive, killing a man and his dog in a crosswalk. The judge ordered her to speak to Towson University and Baltimore County students and volunteer at the Baltimore Humane Society, while the victim's family and prosecutors questioned the lack of jail time.

• Towson Teen Heads Back Into the School Year Having Attended Prestigious GRAMMY Camp (baltimoremagazine.com) — A Towson high school senior at George Washington Carver Center spent part of her summer at an elite GRAMMY Camp in New York, the only Baltimore-area student selected.
