Baltimore County Shooting Investigation Ends With 2 Shot: Police

An investigation into a shooting in Baltimore County led to a police-involved shooting in another jurisdiction, officials said.

ELKRIDGE, MD — An investigation into a shooting in Baltimore County led to a police-involved shooting in Howard County Thursday afternoon, according to authorities. Two suspects were shot and are hospitalized, and a third man has been taken into custody, police said.

Authorities said the incident began with a pursuit in Baltimore County, where officers had been investigating a May 19 shooting that occurred in Lansdowne. In that case, police had a warrant for the suspect who had shot at another person and missed on Hollins Ferry Road at 3rd Avenue.

Undercover investigators tracking the suspect Thursday saw him get in a car and asked if a marked patrol unit could make the traffic stop, so they could arrest the suspect wanted for the shooting. When the officer tried to stop the car around 2nd and Saratoga avenues, the vehicle took off. During the ensuing pursuit, Baltimore County provided helicopter support and tracked the vehicle into Howard County, where the suspects were ultimately arrested after a police involved shooting.
