Bank Robber Caught After York Road Holdup: Police
Police said an armed robber struck a bank near Towson Sunday and was apprehended within two hours.

TOWSON, MD -- The suspect in an armed bank robbery near Towson Sunday afternoon was apprehended in Owings Mills following a police pursuit, officials reported. A gun and money were recovered, police said.
PNC Bank in the 6300 block of York Road was robbed at gunpoint after 1 p.m., officials reported. The bank is located inside a Giant grocery store.

With information from the scene of the robbery, investigators developed information about the suspect and attempted to stop him in his vehicle, authorities said. The vehicle did not stop, police reported.
The pursuit spanned Cockeysville, Towson, Carroll County and Owings Mills, police told WBAL TV, noting a portion of the chase took place on Interstate 695.

Before 2:30 p.m., officials said the suspect vehicle went off the road and became disabled. The suspect was taken into custody in the Owings Mills area, near Reiserstown Road at McDonogh Road, police said.
Money and a gun were found in the vehicle, according to police.
