ACTC Breaks Ground on Addition

On Saturday, May 18, the Assistance Center of Towson Churches broke ground on a 13-foot addition to its facility in Downtown Towson, which is located at 120 West Pennsylvania Avenue next to Calvary Baptist Church.

This is an extraordinary local organization.  Established in 1985 by a group of Towson ministers, ACTC provides food, clothing, and other resources to needy individuals in central Baltimore County.  In 2012, the organization distributed more than 470,000 pounds of food and assisted more than 6,700 homeless individuals.  As I said in my remarks, ACTC is an example of the type of civic engagement that makes Towson such a special part of Baltimore County.

I would like to not only thank ACTC's volunteers and leaders, but also the Towson Rotary Club, PTD Custom Builders, and Carroll Engineering for generously supporting the construction of the new wing for this facility.
