One Taken to Hospital from Ruxton House Fire: Officials

Dozens of firefighters were called to assist in battling Towson blaze Thursday afternoon, public safety officials report.

The cause of the two-alarm house fire in Ruxton Thursday is under investigation, according to Baltimore County public safety officials.

At 11:46 a.m., authorities said crews were dispatched to the 1000 block of Rolandvue Road, where a wood-shingled home was engulfed by flames.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, officials reported.

At one point, firefighters tried to go inside to battle the blaze but the commander called them out due to unsafe conditions, according to officials.

One firefighter was taken to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) after feeling ill, according to the report.

After 4 p.m., Baltimore County officials said crews were continuing to work at the scene of the fire.
