Fifty brides. Fifty grooms. One massive, messy, and murderous ultimatum. In this high-energy reimagining of Aeschylus’s The Danaids, one of the oldest plays in the Western world, fifty sisters flee their grooms and seek refuge in an Italian villa. When the grooms catch up with the brides, the villa becomes a battleground, and the ensuing fight a fierce exploration of gender, autonomy, and love. As the wedding bells loom, pop music blares, and wedding cake flies, the sisters must decide how far they are willing to go to secure their freedom...and perhaps even find true love.
