Charles Village Pub To Be Demolished

Struck by two-alarm fire in January, building couldn't be saved

Charles Village Pub——is set to come down.

West Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed between York Road and Washington Avenue for the Towson bar's demolition, which Councilman David Marks said in an e-mail is expected to take place between 8 p.m. on Friday, March 11 and 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 12.

A longtime student favorite, Charles Village Pub was the site of a grease fire on Jan. 29 that quickly spread out of control. It caused the building to cave in and did damage to an adjacent office building and bank. The pub building, valued in state records at $737,500, could not be saved.
