MD Man Charged With Murdering His Father-In-Law: Police
A 41-year-old man is facing a first-degree murder charge for the fatal Saturday shooting of his father-in-law, police said.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Mark Ryan, a 41-year-old Bel Air resident, was charged with fatally shooting his father-in-law at his home in the Phoenix community.
A release issued by the Baltimore County Police Department said the charges were filed Sunday, but that 74-year-old Robert MacMeekin was killed Saturday at his home on the 14000 block of Sawmill Court.
The fatal shooting happened in the northern portion of Baltimore County just before 2:30 p.m., according to police. MacMeekin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Court records show that Ryan is facing one count of first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in a violent crime.
Police have not detailed what prompted the shooting or if any others were at the home when the shooting occurred.

The Banner reported MacMeekin had lived in the Sawmill Court home since at least 1991 and that he was an attorney at Fine, Kelly & MacMeeking in Timonium.
Ryan remains held at the Baltimore County Detention Center. A bond hearing is scheduled for Monday.
