Cromwell Student Wins Fire Safety Poster Contest

This award-winning picture was designed by an elementary school student in Towson.

TOWSON, MD — A Cromwell Valley Elementary School student won the Baltimore County Fire Prevention Week poster contest, officials announced.

For winning the contest, Anna Cabalo will have the honor of her poster hanging in the fire chief's office in Towson for a year.

Each year, students are invited to submit posters along a theme that promotes fire prevention. Previous themes were “Smoke Alarms Save Lives – Test Yours Every Month" and "Hear the Beep Where You Sleep."

The 2017 theme was "Every Second Counts – Plan Two Ways Out." Cabalo showed a window and door in her poster as possible plans for getting out of a burning residence.
