Fake Cop Stopped On I-695: Maryland State Police

Police said a man in a black and white Impala tried to conduct a traffic stop Saturday night on Interstate 695.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A Virginia man was charged with impersonating a police officer after a state trooper caught him in the act Saturday night on Interstate 695, according to authorities. He was wearing body armor and what appeared to be police equipment and a uniform, Maryland State Police reported.

The trooper pulled up behind a black and white 2012 Chevy Impala with blue and white flashing lights that tried to conduct a traffic stop on the outer loop near Greenspring Avenue, Maryland State Police reported. Officials said the driver of the Impala was arrested at the scene.

Trivett had been trying to stop a gray Honda Accord when he came to the attention of the trooper before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, officials reported.

He was the only one in his car at the time, according to police.

After posting $10,000 bond, police said Trivett was released from the Baltimore County Detention Center. He is slated to appear on Aug. 21 in Baltimore County District Court for trial.
