Delaware State Police said that the Baltimore County Police Department contacted its office Sept. 26 after a 15-year-old boy said he was “involved in an inappropriate relationship” with Shattuck that culminated in a sexual encounter during Labor Day weekend at a rental home in Bethany Beach, DE.
The boy was her son’s classmate at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, according to The Baltimore Sun, which said her three children range in age from 11 to 15. All attend McDonogh, according to TMZ.

The McDonogh principal said in a letter to families that he heard of the relationship Sept. 24 and notified Baltimore County police.
Shattuck and the boy met over Instagram in May and had their first physical contact in the back of her car in a Mount Airy parking lot, according to WBAL, which reported the relationship continued through the summer, when she would pick him up from summer school and drive to a parking garage in Owings Mills.
Over Labor Day weekend, Shattuck allegedly provided alcohol to minors and engaged in a “sexual relationship” with the boy, Delaware police said.
According to WBAL, Shattuck’s children and their friends were staying at a Delaware rental home where the victim spent one night before his father picked him up. Shattuck allegedly purchased beer and performed oral sex on the boy while walking the dog and in her bedroom, where she told him she would have sex with him but he declined, WBAL reported.
Delaware police said its officers presented a search warrant on Oct. 1 at the Shattuck residence to seize items relevant to the investigation. According to WBAL, the items included her cell phone and pink underwear.
Shattuck was arraigned Wednesday in Delaware and released after she posted $84,000 bond, The Washington Post reported.
The Baltimore County state’s attorney’s office told ABC News that it was deferring the prosecution to Delaware officials due to the nature of the allegations.
McDonogh has banned her from the campus, according to TMZ Sports. The United Way of Central Maryland, of which Shattuck was a board member, said she submitted her resignation Wednesday and will not participate in volunteer activities.
Shattuck is going through a divorce from her husband Mayo Shattuck, president of Exelon Corp, parent company of BGE. As she was releasing a book on healthy living in March, she told The Baltimore Sun they have been separated for “a while” and still have a loving relationship that involves nearby homes and shared family time with their three children.
Online court records indicate she filed for divorce on Sept. 29, days after Delaware authorities began investigating her involvement with the 15-year-old boy.
