Free Speech Series Launches At Towson University
A civil rights scholar will deliver a lecture Thursday, kicking off free speech events at Towson University continuing through the semester.

TOWSON, MD - From Towson University: Towson University on Thursday hosts a lecture on the complexity of free speech on college campuses, with a civil rights scholar as the keynote speaker.
Frederick M. Lawrence, CEO of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, will address free speech to the audience gathered at the Harold J. Kaplan Concert Hall in the Center for the Arts at 2 p.m. Thursday.
The event is sponsored by the Albert S. Cook Library, American Association of University Professors, Center for Student Diversity, Office of the President and Office of the Provost.

An accomplished scholar, teacher and attorney, Lawrence is one of the nation’s leading experts on civil rights, free expression and bias crimes. Lawrence has published widely and lectured internationally.
