(Baltimore, MD) April 20, 2017—Green Spring Station recently completed a $500,000 renovation and redesign of its courtyard. The project is aimed at improving the 15,000-square-foot courtyard’s overall feel and usability, most notably with community and charity organizations.

Designed by BCT Architects, the courtyard which was previously multi-leveled, has been reconstructed as a single level to create a large open space for people to congregate, conducive for parties and events. The courtyard now features a pergola, fabricated in Italy and the first of its kind in the United States, installed at Tark’s Restaurant. Management anticipates this unique structure to be utilized nine to ten months of the year due to its infrared heaters and retractable tops and sides which can adjust to the wind and temperature. The pergola also collects rain water internally whereby the rain is piped directly to the drains resulting in no puddling at the base of the structure.

Other notable improvements to the courtyard are the construction of a large fountain that incorporates fire and water as well as heated new tile areas alleviating snow and ice removal in the winter months. The lighting has also been improved as well with the addition of energy efficient and aesthetically pleasing lighting. Lastly, free Wifi is now offered in the courtyard for patrons to enjoy while sitting in one of the many new seating areas.

The newly redesigned courtyard will host its first major event next Thursday, April 27th from 5:30 to 8:00pm, entitled, “Wines of the World – A Tasting At the Station.” Guests are invited to sample more than 20 wines and craft beers from around the world all while getting a taste of the latest trends in home and fashion. Tickets are $55 for one ticket or $100 for a couple with all proceeds benefitting Maryvale Preparatory School. Contact www.maryvale.com/wine for more information or call 410-308-8532.

“We specifically redesigned our courtyard to accommodate large groups and be a great spot to hold charitable and community events,” said Tom Peddy, principal of Foxleigh Enterprises, owner of Green Spring Station. “Green Spring has always been a community gathering place and this new courtyard with its beautiful pergola, expanded gathering space and pleasant atmosphere just adds to our appeal. And we are thrilled that our neighbor, Maryvale Prep, will be the first to host an event in our beautiful revamped courtyard next week.”
