Jewelry Store Broken Into with Hammer: Baltimore County Police

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD - A man used a hammer to break into Poplar Jewelry recently on Joppa Road, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. Police said that the suspect was caught on video shattering one of the windows, then breaking glass cases inside the store to get to jewelry.

The burglar alarm went off at the store in the 1700 block of East Joppa Road at 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 18, authorities said. When they responded, officers found the damage but no suspect.

The suspect took jewelry before leaving, according to police, who hope that surveillance footage will help lead to his identification.
