Search Of Lake Roland Ends, Officials Say

Officials said a person was reported in the water at Lake Roland Sunday afternoon.

TOWSON, MD — Crews spent hours searching for Lake Roland Sunday afternoon once an eyewitness reported seeing someone jump from a bridge into the water, according to authorities.

Before 2:30 p.m., officials said they were called to the lake after a person went into the water and could not be found.

A witness saw a man jump from the light rail bridge that travels over Lake Roland but did not see the man surface afterward, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department, which instructed media to stage at the light rail station on Falls Road.

Special operations crews, including Middle River divers and the Arbutus swift water rescue team, participated in the search, which officials said ended without any victim found by 5:30 p.m.
