Millions In Historic Rehab Tax Credits Headed To Baltimore Co.
Projects will receive more than $9 million in tax credits from the State of Maryland.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Eight historic building rehabilitation projects in Baltimore County and Baltimore City are set to receive more than $9 million in historic rehabilitation tax credits from the State of Maryland. Gov. Larry Hogan announced in a release Monday the projects represent more than $180 million in additional investment and are expected to create more than 600 jobs.
Nineteen applicants sought $24 million in tax credits for construction projects totaling more than $235 million in estimated costs. Projects were selected by the Maryland Historical Trust, a division of the Maryland Department of Planning.

- Glenn L. Martin Plant #2 / Middle River Depot – Eastern Boulevard, Baltimore County
- Day Village – North Avondale Road, Baltimore County
Other Baltimore City projects include:
- 1629 – 1631 Aliceanna St., Baltimore City
- Penn Station – North Charles Street, Baltimore City
- Strawbridge M.E. Church – Wilson Street, Baltimore City
- 3127 E. Baltimore St., Baltimore City
- 417 N. Howard St., Baltimore City
- 301-305 N. Howard St., Baltimore City
The eight projects were selected based on an established set of criteria, including those outlined by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior for historic building rehabilitation.

In addition to hundreds of jobs, the projects awarded tax credits are expected to bring new housing, commercial and arts opportunities to the city.
